Terms of Service

By accessing or using TickTad ("TickTad", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website, applications, and related services (together, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.

TickTad, operated by Bashbox, is a household management platform for tasks, money, meals, kids, pets, and helpers. TickTad is currently offered as a public beta. Features, availability, and pricing may change as we continue to develop the Services.

As a beta release, the Services are provided "as-is" and "as-available", may be incomplete or contain errors, and may change at any time without notice. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your feedback and usage data may be used to improve the platform.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.

You agree not to, and not to permit others to:

  • Use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of others;
  • Upload or transmit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable content;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or to the accounts or data of other users;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Services, except as permitted by law;
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data or content from the Services;
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the Services without our prior written consent.

5. User content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Services ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, store, and process User Content solely to provide and improve the Services. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for ensuring you have the right to share it. Content you share with other members of your household will be visible to them according to their roles.

During the public beta, the Services are provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans or change pricing in the future. If we introduce paid features, we will notify you before any charges apply, and your continued use of paid features will be subject to the applicable fees and terms. Any taxes applicable to your use of the Services are your responsibility.

The Services, including all software, layout, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and branding of TickTad and Bashbox (excluding User Content), are the intellectual property of Bashbox and its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Services for your personal or household purposes. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the Services, and you must not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, or use automated means to extract data from the Services, except as permitted by law.

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services, or integrate with third-party providers (such as payment processors). We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms.

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred Hong Kong dollars (HK). Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us and our officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Services, your User Content, or your breach of these Terms.

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to us or to other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease, but provisions that by their nature should survive will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, please stop using the Services.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You and we agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong for any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services.
